2010 CLASSIC CAR SHOW
The 6th Orinda Classic Car Show was another great success!!!
The “Dancing with the Cars” party was the fun and unique street party we had hoped for. Attended by over 170, everybody seemed to like the close to home location and really enjoyed it. We even managed to auction two cars! The car show on Saturday featured over 160 wonderful classic cars and motorcycles on display and by far the largest crowds checking them all out. Attendance at this year’s show was significantly higher than ever before. There was great music and our MC Rusty Fender kept us all up to date on what was happening at the show. There was an awesome collection of racecars and a great pre-WWII car exhibit. Spectators also enjoyed the “Orinda Through The Years” museum type exhibit, which was a joint project between Orinda Motor’s and the Orinda Historical Society. All separate exhibits at one car show!!!
The Orinda Idol singers gave a mini concert on the back of a Flatbed Model A truck and they were a big hit! Loard’s Ice Cream was on hand and a BBQ lunch was provided by Boy Scout Troops #233 and #57. The car show was wrapped up with a “cruise” through town that was led by the Orinda Police. Both owners as well as those checking out your cars and motorcycles really seemed to be enjoying themselves. The contribution from the car show and the “Dancing With the Cars” dinner to our charities totaled more than $30,000!
The benefactors included Seniors Around Town, Orinda Educational Foundation, the Orinda Historical Society and the Campolindo High School. Thank you to all of the volunteers and the owners of the automobiles and motorcycles for making this year’s show such a great success!!!
